A mobile terminal for satellite communications which operate at Ku-band frequencies for transmission of compressed video and telemetry data over a satellite channel, is now under development at ELTA (a subsidiary of IAl, the Israeli Aircraft Industry). The terminal is designed for mobile ground vehicles like trucks or vans, and is a relatively low cost product of compact size. That terminal is characterized of being a fast deployment product for two way transmission of video, voice, telemetry data, and also telephony, over the satellite channel from vehicles during travel. In addition this terminal is capable of delivering direct broadcast satellite (DBS) television to vehicles in travel.
