This paper looks at the basic relationship between the customer and the supplier, and the many complex relationships between the various engineering functions in a large railway upgrade project. The requirements for data control and simulation are established, together with systems integration. Finally the validation is covered in the form of a satisfactory working timetable. (11 pages)
