Nowadays, the usage of LEDs are significantly increasing due to its high efficiency and economical characteristics. This project proposes an integrated SEPIC-Flyback converter with an efficient power factor for the LED drive. In the proposed LED drive, the SEPIC-Flyback converter is operated at a discontinuous mode to improve the power factor. The switch is operated at zero current switching condition (ZCS), so that the losses can be decreased to the extreme. Also, the voltage spike across the switch is reduced and the inductor leakage energy can also be recycled through the converter. The performance of the integrated SEPIC-Flyback converter for an efficient power factor correction is simulated and analyzed by using PSIM software.
