If an error occurs in encrypted data while transmitted over the wireless channel, it is known that the decryption process at the destination results in avalanche to the original data. Closed-form expressions for error performance of encrypted data over the wireless channel have not been given attention in literature. We consider crypto-systems signals transmitted over faded wireless channels and derive closed-form expressions for the bit error rate (BER). Numerical results and computer simulations are provided to interpret and verify the derived expressions. The results provide design engineers a quantitative insight into performance deterioration resulted from using cryptography in wireless communications using closed-form expressions rather than running time-consuming simulation programs.
