In order to improve the efficiency and safety of laboratory management while enhancing the compatibility between various functional equipment, this paper presents a design for a smart laboratory system based on Home Assistant (HA). The system integrates information technology, Internet of Things, Wi-Fi, RFID, NFC and other practical technologies, and uses ESP8266 to connect various sensors and actuators to HA through ESPHome. So as to realize the control of sockets, projectors, power supplies, lights, doors, curtains, temperature, sound and light. Incorporating Node-RED for automation control allows users to define and implement complex automation processes. Real-time face detection access control management over RetinaFace and Facenet. Users can conveniently control and monitor laboratory facilities through the user interface provided by HA using local or Internet-connected devices. It provides a comprehensive solution to optimize laboratory operations, increase efficiency, enhance safety and simplify administrative processes.
