Indoor Wireless communication takes interest, because the  wires are cumbersome and generate less free space. For this type of communication, 2.4 Ghz is a widely used frequency among electronic equipments, mainly at home and industry. Patch antennas are very popular in wireless communications, specially at home and industry, because they are easy to design and easy to integrate with microwave integrated circuits. They have others advantages, such as: light weigh, little volume, low fabrication cost, etc. In this work, the prototype of a rectangular patch antenna designed for Wireless Fidelity, Wi-Fi, with linear polarization, is presented. On the base of this rectangular antenna, it was realized cuts and grooves in order to improve its gain. A comparison on their performance is also shown.
