In order to prevent accidents caused by fatigue, drunk driving, and driver distraction, this paper designs and implements a driver status monitoring and early warning system based on multi-sensor fusion. This system used the wearable terminal to collect the driver's heart rate pulse, alcohol concentration and three-axis acceleration information in real time and transmit them to the server. By monitoring the status of the driver, including heartbeat, alcohol, etc., when the detected data is not within the normal range, an alarm message is generated promptly to prevent traffic accidents, and the immediate message will be transfer to the family indicating the status of the drivers. In addition, the heart rate sensors is also used for correct detection of status of driver if in either case driver is falling to fatigue due to any sever medical problems. The results show that this system can effectively prevent fatigue driving, increase driving safety and provide a reference for other intelligent driving technologies.
