Due to the advantage of renewable integration to the traditional power grid, the hybrid system is achieving popularity. Based on National Wind-Solar Hybrid Policy has issued by MNRE, Govt. of India, a pre-feasibility study has been undertaken by ANERT, Govt. of Kerala for the electrification of hybrid system at Ponmudi, Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, India. In this paper, solar PV-wind hybrid grid connected system at proposed site was simulated using HOMER Pro software and to develop economical feasible hybrid system. Based on optimized configuration, a proposed hybrid system has developed and it’s power flow analysis has performed using ETAP software. A proposed optimal control strategy for the minimizing grid operating cost is developed and programmed by using GAMS software.
