With the diversification of internet applications and the increasing demand for data transmission rates, traditional rule-based circular beamforming can no longer meet the requirements of high-throughput satellite (HTS) systems. Hence, there's a growing interest in synthesizing patterns for complex beam shapes. The existing pattern synthesis algorithms mainly contain deterministic methods based on mathematical formulas, numerical iterative methods, and intelligent optimization algorithms. However, these methods must balance optimization speed and accuracy when dealing with complex beam shapes. To address this issue, we propose a subarray-based pattern synthesis algorithm to reduce the demands on the RF chains. Our method enhances computational efficiency while meeting various constraints, such as the direction of the beam center, sidelobe level, null positioning, and the 3dB elliptical contour of the beam's main lobe. Simulation results have demonstrated the applicability and effectiveness of this method in solving large-scale array problems in HTS systems, providing a new perspective in the field of beamforming technology for satellite communications.
