Parametric study by performing iteration of numerical simulation is commonly used as a method for determining the antenna dimension in wideband antenna design. A theoretical approach for determining the planar triangular antenna has been investigated in this research. The biconical antenna theory which is combined with Least Mean Square Algorithm is investigated as theoretical approach to calculate the dimension of planar triangular antenna. A laboratory experiment and measurement in developing the digital television receiver antenna has been performed as a case study to validate the theoretical approach that is investigated. Epoxy substrate that has thickness of 1.6mm and a relative dielectric constant of 5.4 is used in the experiment. Theoretical, simulation and measurement results show that the proposed method performed well for determining the wideband planar triangular antenna. The theoretical and measurement result have a good agreement.
