This paper brings a theory from the sociological and ethnicity literature to bear on an important UAS issue — manned and unmanned flight in the same airspace. Applying acculturation theory to this issue suggests a way forward, i.e., one that could strengthen dialogue and discussion on this issue, as well as gain a more adequate scientific understanding of the socio-technological issues that this problem raises.
