To improve the performance of the electron optics system for millimeter wave traveling-wave tubes, we developed a two-dimensional electron optics system design tool. It includes UESTC_Gun, UESTC_PPM and UESTC_MDC to model and simulate electron guns, periodic permanent magnetic focusing systems and multi-stage depressed collectors respectively. The physics models and implements of UESTC_Gun code, UESTC_PPM code and UESTC_MDC code will be presented. The electrons' behaviors in the electromagnetic field with finite differential method in cylindrical coordinates are computed. So we build a two dimensions model which is discretized with rectangular elements. In the iterative equations[1] which is used to compute the current density, the space charge effect and the thermal initial velocity of electron at the cathode are considered. Secondary electron emission generally involves two categories of emission products. The first includes the release of so-call "true" secondary electrons, and the second includes the back-scattered primary electrons [2-3].The four-order Runge-Kutta's method is used to get the trace of the electrons. Based on visualization technique of scientific calculation, object-oriented modeling technique and thoughts of software engineering, our program has good-looking user interface, easy operation and visualization of computational process and results. In Fig.1-6, some results will be shown.
