We report on the coherent optical phonon oscillations and their coupling to carriers in GaAs-AlGaAs multiple quantum wells with varying barrier widths. As has been shown recently, the development of the screened LO phonon mode is a good indication of the growth-direction, and longitudinal plasmon-phonon coupling.
