With the increasing integration of renewable energy in modern power systems, inverter-based resources (IBRs) are dominant in power generation. The characteristics of the power system are changing due to the integration. This change demands strongly the controllability and flexibility of renewable power plants (RPPs). A flexible operation framework for RPPs is thus proposed in this paper to address relevant issues. And solutions to the operational flexibility of RPPs are briefly discussed.
