Fast EV Chargers ensure safe and reliable charging with the exchange of digital data and signals between Electric Vehicles (EV) and Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE). GB/T 27930-15 is one of the globally adopted communication protocols for DC EV Charging. Implementation methodology for the various aspects of GB/T 27930-2015 protocol for EVSE is detailed in this paper. Conformance testing of the developed communication modules is essential and a lab level pre-compliance test environment was developed using hardware and software modules. The test bench consists of digital controllers emulating EV and EVSE nodes, hardware to emulate the charging connector and a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for observing the communication sequence and data. The paper further details testing and evaluations using the test bench.
