Testing of safety-critical semi-autonomous robots comes with challenges, first in the practicality of generating test cases for functional testing and non-functional testing such as testing for failures and failure mitigation. Second, in providing sufficient evidence for an efficient safety certification process. In this paper, we use a testing framework that integrates model-based testing and combinatorial testing to test a semiautonomous Mobile Vertical Take Off and Landing robot platform (MVTOL) designed for launch, land and recover vertical take off and landing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAVs). We also investigate the testing framework standards compliance by mapping the testing framework outputs to safety evidence used in robotics domain certification.
