A permutation-based preprocessing is proposed to solve the burst error problem in video distributed coding. In send, this method uses the chaotic mapping to permute the image, and put the permuted image into the traditional distributed video encoder. In receiver, the image will be easily restored from the decoded one. The experimental results show that this permutation-based preprocessing can improve the performance of distributed video coding. In addition, this system structure is low-complexity, and can be used in some security applications.
