In recent years, the amount of traffic in most of the roads are increased since the number of vehicles is getting increased day by day. There are some of the highway roads, where the people need to pay Toll Tax in order to use the same. Most of the toll collection centers are manually operated which is a time-consuming process and leads to heavy traffic, fuel wastage and other public issues. To automate this process, we propose a smart toll tax automation and monitoring system using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology and mobile android application integration which enables the people to pay the toll tax automatically without any human intervention. The proposed work is implemented using RFID enabled smart cards which can be placed in the vehicle and it is integrated with an android application which will initiate the payment process. The SMS facility is also integrated in order to notify the details of tax deduction to the respective consumers. The proposed system provides faster response when compared to other traditional approaches.
