The volume of air traffic has experienced rapid growth in recent years, leading to a significant increase in airspace pressure. Therefore, conventional flight procedures can no longer meet the current demands and require prompt optimization. Quick access record (QAR) data, collected from civil aircrafts, offer a unique contribution to flight procedure optimization by deviating from practical tracks. In this study, we examine specific flight paths near Tianjin Binhai International Airport. The QAR data were pre-processed and the tracks were clustered using the K-means clustering algorithm. These clustered tracks were then compared with the standard flight procedures, enabling the proposal of strategies for flight procedure optimization.
