The Traditional way of embedded software testing follows a "V" cycle approach. This has multiple phases. Left side of the "V" represents Model in Loop and Software in Loop phase. Whereas the right side of the "V "represents Hardware in Loop and Vehicle in Loop phases. Ideally all the phases has its own importance and value addition in the world of embedded software Testing. Model in Loop and Software in Loop represent the prototyping and virtual testing of the application. Whereas Hardware in Loop represent the physical world, real ECU Testing and Vehicle in Loop Testing represent final software testing on the vehicle. Goal: Goal is to reduce machine test time and finding defects early in V cycle by; Utilizing Virtual reality Lab for embedded software functional testing & performance testing. The Fig 1 showcases complete overview of the systems. This solution successfully integrates Virtual Reality world with the Hardware in loop systems world. Intention here is to have a Feed-forward and Feedback systems which is capable of interacting with Virtual model and physical signals.
