General type-2 fuzzy set (GT2FS) is the generalization of its type-1 counterpart, which can better describe the nature of uncertainty. This paper presents computing with words (CWWs) for the discrete GT2FS based on α plane representation. Firstly, it is introduced for the GT2FS, Secondly, We give the numerical procedure of CWWs. Numerical examples are applied to assess the algorithm. Finally, we point out the existing issue and future trends in CWWs.
