Platoons are vehicle formations that allow better traffic management and safety. Although many efforts have been devoted to implement platooning, ensuring stability in the presence of misbehavior remains a challenge. The detection of the misbehavior is important, otherwise it may put the platoon as well as other vehicles in danger. In this paper, we propose an edge assisted misbehavior detection system for vehicular platoons where speed/acceleration information of platoon and observation from other connected entities are leveraged to detect the misbehaving vehicle(s). Extensive simulation in different settings shows that our proposed method can improve the misbehavior detection rate compared to existing baseline method.
