We demonstrate "pseudo-linear" transmission of short pulses in nonzero or high dispersion optical fiber where the dispersion compensation at the end of the fiber span is employed to reconstruct the data pulses. RZ-format OTDM transmission from 40 to 100 Gbit/s over nonzero and conventional single-mode fiber using semiconductor components in the transmitter, receiver and clock recovery subsystems is described.
