This paper deals with the automation of oil pipelines inspection by means of a pig. The modern methods of pig location and navigation have been examined. The experience of aerospace technologies for construction of an inertial navigation system is used. The original methods of inertial system correction have been proposed. The block diagram of an algorithm for automated data processing of pipelines inspection and reconstruction of their plan is developed.
