Artificial intelligence has recently become a more and more promising approach for solving actual technological, and even economic problems in telecommunications. This is not, however, a magic solution, so we analyze the needs for its use, indicate potential areas in communication architecture, where its use is expected, and analyze the basic elements of one suggested scheme for its practical implementation in networks.
