The article contains analysis of abnormal modes of traction induction motor drive operation. It identifies main factors that directly influence the character of abnormal modes passing and should be taken into account in case of simulation modeling. The obtained simulation model allows research of abnormal modes in a traction induction motor drive. The quoted result of modeling the motion of the traction induction motor drive along the length of track with a low adhesive coefficient shows that the amount of the rolling stock wheel adhesive coefficient change and the length of track with adverse adhesion conditions significantly influence the history of the transient process. At the same time, application of the traction induction motor drive stator current correction system in its rotation function allows effective control of wheel pair spin development.
