A compact solid-state Raman pulse compressor-amplifier system was developed and 25 ps duration, 1 mJ energy pulses with 45 MW peak power were obtained at 100 Hz repetition rate. This short pulse beam was applied to PDP glass marking, copper-laminated poly-imide film cutting, and silicon wafer cutting.
