We have demonstrated simultaneous demultiplexing and clock recovery of 80 Gb/s OTDM signals for the first time. With 3 V/sub PP/ drive voltage at 20 GHz on the first EAM and at 10 GHz on the second EAM, the switching window of the tandem EAM is 9 ps. The penalty for an 80 Gb/s OTDM signal demultiplexed to 10 Gb/s is 1.2 dB compared to a 20 Gb/s signal demultiplexed to 10 Gb/s. This configuration makes the demultiplexing receiver very compact and simple.
