The National Police Agency is promoting the next generation Universal Traffic Management Systems (UTMS21) consisting of 8 subsystems. The UTMS21 has been researched and developed with the aim of traffic safety and smooth traffic flow in order to create an environment-friendly traffic-oriented society, and the driving safety support system (DSSS), a subsystem of the UTMS21, which is designed to reduce traffic accidents and ensure traffic safety. This paper explains the traffic accident occurrence situations, on which the DSSS is based, the overview of the DSSS and its verification test.
