The paper deals with vehicle speed, pedestrian walking speed, distance to which the driver has a view, distance to which the pedestrian has a view, and the distance needed to stop the vehicle. These factors and relationships between these factors are considered in the paper by means of theoretical mathematical calculations. In the first part of the paper, the theoretical mathematical calculations are focused on the maximum speed limits a closed village with respect to pedestrians. In the second part of the paper calculations are focused on the crossing of vehicles. The results presented in the article point out the importance of maintaining maximum speed limit.
