This paper describes a method to diagnose current sensor fault in a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM) drive for automotive applications. The method is based on a differential algebraic estimation of the faults dynamics in the stationary reference frame. The method is presented and analysed under the assumption of a single sensor fault (offset or gain). Simulation and experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
