The traditional shift schedule can’t fit the driver's driving intention very well. This paper proposes a shift strategy based on the driver's intention. Taking the throttle opening and its change rate as parameters, the fuzzy neural network is used to train the driver's intention recognition model during acceleration and deceleration. Based on the driving simulation platform, the reliability of the intention recognition model is verified by the offline and online ways. The simulation results show that the proposed shift strategy not only takes both power performance and fuel economy of vehicle into account, but also overcomes the shortcomings of the fixed shift point and the unexpected upshift during deceleration.
