We demonstrate a 16 GHz analog heterodyne FM link with pre-emphasis operating at 1540 nm wavelength, with a NF (noise figure) of (40/spl plusmn/1) dB and SFDR (spurious-free dynamic range) of (108/spl plusmn/2) dB-Hz/sup 2/3/, employing a WIRNA (wide-band rectifier narrow-band amplifier) receiver to reduce phase noise.
