Gossamer spacecraft technology is critical for enabling large, space-based systems to collect and transmit solar power. This paper gives an overview of structures, materials, and control technology development for space solar power systems. Key technologies include inflatable structures, in-space fabrication of structural elements, robotic assembly, multifunctional structures, active control of flexible structure dynamics, and lightweight radiators.
