This paper presents a method for integrating the operation of the automatic vehicle identification (AVI) system and the camera enforcement system on a multi-lane road. A downward looking wide angle camera is used to detect the presence of vehicles inside a designated detection zone of the AVI system, as well as positioning, counting and classifying the vehicles by their sizes. This information is correlated with the information received by the AVI system to command the enforcement camera system. The prototype system is tested on a 60:1 scale model road and model cars. Some preliminary results are described.<>
