As one of the important spaces of railway transportation buildings, the waiting hall of high-speed railway station normally has a large space and a dense flow of people. Spatial characteristics, information dissemination, and crowd activities affect the sound dissemination in the waiting hall. They also have a direct impact on the physical and mental health of passengers during the waiting. In this study, the current situation of the acoustic environment in the waiting hall was analyzed by using on-site acoustic environment measurement and passenger questionnaire survey in Zhengzhou East High-speed Railway Stations (ZEHRS) and Changsha South High-speed Railway Stations (CSHRS). With the consideration of the acoustic environment standards, the acoustic environment control was discussed for space design, environment design, and indoor interface. This study aims to provide a reference for the design of a large-space acoustic environment.
