A scalable, re-programmable radiation hardened vector processor for space applications is presented. An architectural approach combining a vector processor and a general purpose digital signal processor is shown to yield substantial processing gains over traditional implementations. Point solutions are presented yielding savings of up to five times the size, weight, and power over traditional implementations.
