The desirable vibration performance of the second throat centrebody of transonic wind tunnel is one of the key technologies that realize high-precision and rapid regulation of the Mach number in the wind tunnel test section. The vibration of the open centrebody of the second throat in the transonic wind tunnel is strong. The numerical simulation and test methods are adopted to conduct a study on dynamic characteristics of the centrebody. The closed centrebody structure is proposed pursuant to results of numerical simulation. In the end, the wind test is conducted to verify the vibration attenuation effect. Results show that it' s feasible to study dynamic characteristics of the centrebody with the method of numerical simulation and then optimize the structure; the wind tunnel test displays that the dynamic characteristics of the closed centrebody are far superior to those of open centrebody. The effective value of vibration accelerated speed reduces by 60% with obvious vibration attenuation effect.
