This paper proposes a novel and efficient utilization of gas turbine exhaust waste heat recovery (WHR) with the aim of generating electrical energy. The WHR is based on an air Brayton cycle and its waste heat recovery ratio (electrical generation power from input of waste thermal power) is analyzed. Proposed auxiliary unit will reduce the electrical generation load of most existing propulsion plants and increase efficiency and range of modern hybrid aircrafts. In the analysis, secondary air mass flow rate, compressor's pressure ratio and inlet relative pressure drop across the heat exchangers are numerically analyzed.
