UV-irradiation in a reactive atmosphere can improve the biocompatibility of poly-tetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, [C2F4]n) in a single step with high efficiency and single parameter control. Now we extend our investigations to well defined micro-patterns on PTFE. Potential applications are cell arrays for in-situ gene product analysis of living cells.
