Three-phase Induction motor is mostly used in many industrial, commercial and residential applications because of the cheaper in cost, less maintenance required, robust operation and mainly due to the three-phase supply is easily available at any location. Now a day’s Electrical motor with multiphase supply (more than three-phase supply) is widely used because of its various advantages over three-phase motor such as high fault tolerance characteristic, high torque density, reduced torque ripple, greater reliability, improved noise characteristic and, low maintenance. analysis of five-phase induction motor can be carried out for the different conduction of Five-phase Inverter from 0° to 180°. multi-phase induction motor is used in electric aircraft, in electric vehicles for propulsion, high compressor system, ship propulsion, electric traction and in high power applications. This paper presents brief information about five-phase induction motor fed by five-phase VSI.
