The remote village electrification along with the accessibility of continuous power is provided by the integrated operation of microgrid assisted by utility grid. The utilization of energy from renewables i.e. solar photovoltaic (PV) array and wind generation support the grid and reduce the electricity cost. Here, in this work, a dual mode transfer scheme is adopted so that in the absence of the grid or power failure, the control shifts from the current control mode to a standalone operating mode. The inception of operating modes are enabled according to the signal provided to the static transfer switches (STS). The grid interconnection along with energy storage provided to the microgrid, offers significant benefits of curbing renewable intermittency of the solar PV array and wind generation. The power quality (PQ) improvement along with energy surety and sufficiency are perceived by managing local load support. The bias compensated improved affine projection like (BC-IAPL) adaptive filter is utilized in the grid connected mode of operation i.e. current control, while the modified proportional resonant (MPR) controller assisted by dual modified generalized integrator-based phase locked loop (DMGI-PLL) is utilized in standalone mode i.e. voltage control. The modified sensorless scheme adopted to estimate the speed and rotor position of the wind generator, reduces the cost of mechanical sensors. The cooperational behavior of the microgrid is obtained in detail.
