Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication enables vehicles, pedestrians, road side units, and infrastructure facilities to communicate. Among numerous usage scenarios, intersection safety information provision plays an important role for safe urban driving. A smart intersection management system relies on wireless communication, whereby communication resources should be allocated to vehicles efficiently to maintain safety. This paper provides a novel sensing-based semi-persistent scheduling method that utilizes RSU’s sensing information in smart intersection V2X communication. Simulations have been carried out to evaluate the performance improvement compared with the standard resource allocation scheme. It shows that the proposed scheme will increase the data transmission efficiency by reducing the packet collision ratio and increasing the received packet quality.
