The transportation infrastructure of every metropolitan region acts as the area's backbone, and traffic management is a tough effort due to the complexity of the interactions between the many parts that are important to the process. Congestion in the city's transportation systems is one of the most pressing problems facing researchers, engineers, and transportation planners in every major metropolitan area. GIS-based approaches are now the method of choice for the investigation of city road network traffic flow. This is primarily due to the availability of a number of analytical tools that make use of geospatial data in conjunction with attribute information. This research work assessment of the Indian city's road network traffic congestion locations was carried out with the assistance of Google Maps, which is available as a free open-source resource, in order to get real-time traffic statistics. Because of the rise in the number of vehicles on the road, there has been an increase in both the volume of traffic and the severity of traffic congestion in urban road networks, which has led to both an increase in wait times and a reduction in overall road safety. Utilizing a wide range of GIS features, the objective of this piece is to do an analysis of the many sites of traffic congestion that occur throughout the working daylight hours in line with road directions. In addition to its use for other GIS features, this article makes use of ArcGIS 10.2's network analyzer and overlay analysis capabilities. The assessment of congestion points according to road direction is based on the priority results, which may aid planners in reassigning road directions to lower the overall number of congestion points across the system.
