Based on road traffic information, a charging load forecasting model of electric vehicles (EVs) is presented, with the impacts of the transportation system on the driving and charging behaviors of EVs considered. The traffic network is modeled based on the road structure using the graph theory. The travel characteristics of EVs are described from three aspects: time, space and state of charge. Then, based on the path planning method considering road speed limit information and dynamic traffic information, the spatial-temporal charging load distribution model of EVs is established. Finally, an actual example in China is employed to demonstrate the feasibility and accuracy of the proposed modeling method.
