We have developed a submillimeter wave pulsed electron spin resonance (ESR) spectrometer by using a high power radiation source gyrotron. As preliminary studies, properties of nanosecond-shutter composed of semiconductor and excitation light have been investigated to form a pulse of microwave. The properties of the shutter are presented.
