With the rise of the popularity of self-driving cars, there would be more scenarios where the autonomous cars would be used in environments which are not properly designed for them. Building an automatic gesture recognition system is essential for self-driving cars, especially in the developing countries where the traffic signal infrastructure could be not present or working. In this project, we focus on the video understanding of the automatic gesture recognition system to classify the gesture of traffic policemen who stands at traffic intersections and give commands to the oncoming traffic. Computer vision and Deep learning has been finding more and more applications in the autonomous vehicles these days [1] – [4] We use skeleton data for pose recognition because:
