Unmanned aerial vehicles perform various tasks and are used for reconnaissance, photography, filming, parcel transport, rescue operations and simply for entertainment. One of the potential visions for the future is also personal transport, where transporters do not have control over the drone. One of the essential components of such unmanned vehicles is a flight controller. With various flight controllers' manufacturers, the choice of the right one is extensive and versatile. Flight controllers available on the market perform control of the toys and up to large Aeroplan's or helicopters autopilot. However, selecting a flight controller is not a trivial task because the information between manufacturers is not standardized. This may lead to a slight misconception and a wrong choice. In this paper, the author considered it necessary to specify the various components of flight controllers to harmonize the available information and provide the reader with an essential overview. The work deals with the most common solutions available in the market in 2021.
