→ Based on the compatibility results LDACS1 RL and FL channels could operate where airborne DME/TACAN equipment is only receiving. → Further investigations should focus to frequencies which are not used by DME interrogator (1025–1150 MHz)! E.g. the already anticipated frequency bands between 963.5–970.5 MHz and 1149.5–1156.5 MHz. → Considering the way ahead the following aspects should be discussed: — Should a Future Communication Infrastructure consist of a satellite based air-ground data link only? — Is the Aeronautical L-band the right spectrum for a terrestrial A/G data link? — How contemporary is a navigation system which requires 200 MHz of bandwidth, while at the same time there a number of global and regional satellite based navigation systems providing more accurate results?
