The approach to track multiple missile trajectories from launch to impact on the surface of the earth uses various track and update algorithms, one of such is an Interactive multiple model (IMM) filter. IMM is capable of tracking highly maneuverable targets due to its ability to switch between different tracking filters to track the target at different phases of its trajectory. Global Nearest Neighbour (GNN), a single hypothesis tracker, provides an optimal solution for multi-target tracking. GNN is compatible with various tracking filters which includes Interactive Multiple Model (IMM) filters. Mean square errors of the respective filters are also discussed. Integration of IMM and GNN provides an adequately robust missile tracking system which is discussed in this paper.
